Road Trip

August 8th, 2007

This is at the prospect of another visit to sunny Newcastle for the both of you:

Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey Jones you better watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.

This old engine makes it on time,
Leaves Central Station ’bout a quarter to nine,
Hits River Junction at seventeen to,
At a quarter to ten you know it’s drivin again.

I know it’s a song about a train but I couldn’t think of anything involving a car (cars, driving in my car, born to be wild, ace of spades). Alright shut up, no-one asked you!

Who said we’d be driving in a car? I never said it, but I did think it.

Have you been raiding my thoughts in the dead of night again?

They’re my thoughts! Get your filthy hands out!

So it would make more sense and have more relevance if you DID come on a train then. Hooray, my song fits! Well, Jerry Garcia’s song fits.

I ain’t stealing no thoughts fool.

How about this song for a car journey?

    ——

    Brum brum brum
    The car’s engine does hum
    Driving on the road
    We’re in a driving mode.

    Vroom vroom vroom
    There is no chuffing room
Our bags fill all the space
    We’re driving to a place.

    Nee nor nee nor
    The police are waging war
We drove our car too fast
    Policeman calls us bast
    ards.

    Beep beep beep
    We cross a river deep
    Driving into town
    We put our foot down
    On the brake.

    Hello hello hello
Say it to those we know
    Our journey at an end
    Thank fuck

It’s kind of like ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ but with filthy language and cars.

    I like it.

I don’t have a mello-D for it yet but as soon as I can afford a grand piano I’ll get right on to it.

From what I’ve heard apparently the way to get one is to go to university, take out a student loan and use all of that to pay for it.

    Silly
    Really
    Really
    Silly

If I had a student loan and no real need for it, I think I’d spen all the money on building a giant fizzy cola bottle mountain… or beer not sure which!

    I love to spen money.

I find it’s much more enjoyable than spending it.

If I could spen all day I’d spen, spen and spen some more.

    Then I’d spend it.

Do you like to spen things here?

  • 12. Ian Mac Mac Mac Mac McIver  |  August 10th, 2007 at 16:59

    *takes a deep breath*

    N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-NO!

I love to spen there! Of all the places I’ve ever done my spenning that was my favourite. Definately. Oh Yes.

When I spen I do it right. There’s no two ways about it, nope, there’s only one way and that way isn’t that way. If you get what I mean.

    Oh for a problem-free spening-spree!
