I have recently been informed that two astonishing new phrases have been immediately made up for the consumption of da beans website. They come aficionado and long-time sponsor Keveel De Heel, currently showing his work around the Northern shores of Italy.

Unfortunately due to his busy work schedule Mr De Heel didn’t have time to tell us what they meant so it has been thrown open to da beans community to establish their meanings. They are as follows:

Sponge Hammer
Cleaning out the fish bowl

Pet away! Pet away!

Well, sponge hammer is easy. I can’t believe you seriously don’t know what it is. But for the sake of your strange little game here, I’ll play along.

A sponge hammer is a tool used by bakers, pattisieres and related craftsmen. The special eggs used in the production of sponge cakes mean that the cake is a ridiculous size when it leaves the oven – anything up to fifteen feet in diameter for a standard birthday cake – and must be compressed to a reasonable size with a sponge hammer.

    Elementary.

You know what? I should have known that. But I didn’t. This results in a net loss for me, which I will now have to make up.

That just makes me feel worse now. It would take a pen and a harpsicord to drag me out of this den.

You can borrow my biro if you like. But I lent my harpsichord to Kev a few months ago and haven’t seen it since.

Is that what he’s making his cloning machine out of? I think I saw a harpischord when I was in his lab of…

Uh oh, I shouldn’t have said that, should I?

No! Not my exquisite 16th century harpsichord! It was the one that King Louis XVIII used to serenade his wife-to-be at their romantic chateau in Avignon!

It’s almost as if I’ve done something wrong, but I haven’t so it’s alright.

It might be Charley’s. If so don’t use the bathroom.
