It’s been a while since the Pouring Beans magazine ran a puzzle page, so for all those of you sitting on a railway platform with a pencil and ten minutes to spare, here’s this week’s fun games.
All you have to do is identify the common Beans catchphrases from the symbols.

Answers on a postcard to the usual address. The winner will be randomly selected and will win a specially branded box of Pouring Beans “After Eight” minty beans. Good luck!

I’ve sent in my postcard. Did I get it all right?
I haven’t got it, so you might have got the address wrong, but I imagine you got all the actual answers right.
I got two of them instantly. I’m still working on the other four.
Wait, I got a third. I am flying here.
You got a long way in those first two weeks. How have you done in the two weeks after that?
Not good. I’m flagging like a dragon in Wigan called Karen.
Let’s see your answers then, and we can do a big reveal.
1. We need three. We are three.
2. Hot pie. Cold custard.
3. Something cold and sickly. Sick my cold!
4. Don’t question my cheese nails!
5. Doctor Burger.
6. Buff to sheen perhaps.
Ahh!
1 & 2. I agree with Ian
3. Chillin’ and Illin’
4. Polish the cheeses Wexford?
5. Same as Ian
6. “Polish to mirror shine” which like Ian I assume translates to “buff to sheen”
Leave this to you two. You’ve got this.
1. We need three. We are three.
2. Hot pie, cold custard.
3. Chillin’ and illin’.
4. Would you like me to polish the cheeses, sir?
5. Doctor Burger.
6. Buff to sheen.
I feel as though there’s a lot more implied in no. 4 than there actually is by way of a clue.
Polish
Cheeses
Sir
Question mark
I think it’s clear enough.
Clear like a bathtub of butter.
You’re quite right, fuck face, it’s so obvious now I’m looking at the words. Pardon me for being wrong.
That’s the most combative apology I’ve ever received and I’m now cowering under the bed. Well played.
